A zoetrope is an early animation device that creates the illusion of motion through rapid rotation, consisting of a cylinder with slits around the circumference and a series of sequential images printed on the inside of the cylinder, which are viewed through the slits while the cylinder spins at a certain speed, creating a quick succession of images.
