A form of digital video broadcasting in which the video content is made available on the internet for users to watch at any time, as opposed to broadcast television which requires a viewer to tune in at a specific time. The term is a portmanteau of 'video' and 'podcast'—it is essentially a podcast that is viewed instead of listened to.
