The currency of Estonia, the kroon, is a unit of currency. There were two kronunités, first issued in 1928 and withdrawn in 1940 during the occupation of Estonia by the Soviet Union, and the second issued in 1992 as Estonia gained independence. In 2011, the euro replaced the kroon for more significant transactions in Estonia.
