Seringapatam is a town in Karnataka, India, historically significant for being the capital of the kingdom of Mysore under rulers such as Tipu Sultan. It is also known for the military campaigns and battles, including the Battle of Seringapatam in 1799, where the British East India Company defeated Tipu Sultan’s forces.
