A SIRET number is a unique 14-digit identification number assigned to all companies and professional sole traders in France. It is used for tax, employment, and administrative purposes and is used to identify and distinguish businesses from one another. The SIRET number consists of a 9-digit SIRET number plus a 5-digit fiscal code (NIR), separated by a hyphen, e.g., 123456789-012345.
