Inamrinone Definition

Inamrinone is a non-glycosylated product of the fermentation of Streptomyces candidus. It is a positive inotropic agent with weak cardiotonic effect used in the treatment of heart failure. It primarily increases contractility without significantly affecting heart rate and is part of a class of drugs known for their action on sarcolemmal calcium channels and myofilament calcium sensitivity.
